Summer Break
After 75+ issues of rabbithol, I'm hitting pause. Too many plates spinning, not enough hands to catch them.
My business is demanding way more attention than usual (temporary chaos, hopefully), plus summer break with the family is calling. Can't half-ass either one, so something's gotta give.
I considered three options:
Let AI write the newsletter (soulless robot content)
Kill rabbithol entirely (nuclear option)
Take an actual break (novel concept)
Since I'd rather not see something without personality carrying my name, and I'm nowhere near done with this project, option three wins.
But I'm not leaving empty-handed. Got one absolute banger queued up - the kind of video that makes you question your life choices and immediately start browsing luxury golf Airbnbs. Loved every ridiculous minute of it.
Back end of September, recharged and ready. To everyone still here when I return, borrowing from Green Day: "Wake me up when September ends.”
Useless golf videos we’ve watched this week, so you don’t have to:
None. Just this amazing video below.
Golf AirBnBs
Josh Mayer road trips across the country testing luxury golf Airbnbs - from Pinehurst mansions with custom simulators to Ohio cabins with full 9-hole courses. His wife Maggie gets challenged at each stop while Josh builds his case for why they need golf features at home. Worth watching for the insane amenities and to see which properties actually deliver on the golf experience.
Video length: 22:53
The Birdie House, Pinehurst ($$$) - Five-bedroom mansion with custom golf simulator, industrial hot dog roller (OOOOOH YEAH!), and massive short game facility with bunkers and multiple tee boxes. Comes with branded tees, ball markers, and enough golf memorabilia to outfit a pro shop. Maggie's challenge: make birdie from the back tee. Verdict: Pure golf luxury (and my personal favorite)
Asheville Mountain Monster ($$$$) - 14,000 sq ft behemoth sleeping 26 people with everything imaginable: two hot tubs, movie theater, basketball court, AND a full par-3 course with three greens and mix-and-match holes. The master bedroom alone has two fireplaces and a makeup studio. Maggie's challenge: hit all three greens from the back tees.
Karen Creek Cabin, Ohio ($) - Humble cabin that comes with access to a private 9-hole golf course and custom golf cart. One fairway, one green, nine different tee boxes scattered through the woods. Course called "Spud Run" (they have their own Youtube channel) with potato tee markers and incredible attention to detail. Maggie's challenge: hit the fairway from the hardest 200-yard tee box.
The Real Mission - Josh is building a case to convince his wife to let him install a golf simulator at home (remember?). Each Airbnb visit is strategic research disguised as vacation content. Let’s see if he succeeds.
The genius move is using these trips as "research" for home golf features. Josh is playing 4D chess while his wife thinks they're just on vacation.
Watch the full tour - See every ridiculous amenity and find out which Airbnb delivers the best golf experience.
Also: you can really stay at these AirBnBs so maybe that’s the inspiration/excuse you need to take a trip and pack the whole family for a golf vacation.
The end but not really.
So yeah, that’s it for this week and the next few weeks. I hope you all have an outstanding summer with LOTS of golf, major handicap improvements and one or two tournament wins.
Sincerely, your Magic Rabbit aka. Tim.
Leader through the rabbit hole. Will return like an Energizer Bunny.
