This Week I Learned
My shaft may be too stiff.
Yeah, I went there. Couldn't resist.
But seriously, I discovered my driver shaft should probably be regular instead of stiff. Borrowed a buddy's regular flex driver last weekend, and the difference was night and day. Smoother swing, better feel, actually wanted to keep swinging it.
Turns out, during my fitting last year, I was swinging out of my mind trying to impress the fitter. On the actual course? I swing like a normal human being who doesn't want to throw out his back.
Classic fitting mistake. Performing for the launch monitor instead of matching real-world tempo. Now my wallet's crying because the "things to buy for golf" list just got longer.
P.S. Still on vacation mode, so this edition runs lean again (no deals section 🙊 )
Useless golf videos we’ve watched this week, so you don’t have to:
15 = 164 minutes saved (vacation doesn't stop the research)
Golf Comedy Gold
This week's spotlight has zero to do with lowering your handicap and everything to do with pure entertainment gold.
Stumbled across this new YouTube series that's redefining golf comedy. Six days after launch, it has already crushed 105K views on a brand-new channel. Clearly struck a nerve with golfers everywhere.
"The golf club is indeed run by idiots" perfectly sums up the premise: a clueless pro, a savvy cart girl, and an overly ambitious course marshal who hits way too close to home (my personal favorite, because we all know that guy). The character writing is spot-on.
This feels like the golf show we've all been waiting for without knowing it. High production value meets actually funny writing - rare combo in golf content. Pretty confident this becomes appointment viewing for golf addicts.
Get in early so you can be the first at your dysfunctional home club talking about the latest episode.

Chipping Masterclass
I’d be impressed if it were done on purpose. Then again, I’m impressed because it wasn’t on purpose, and he found it funny as well.
Testing 5 Popular Products
Matt aka. Mr. Shortgame tests the most popular golf gear on Amazon to see if the hype matches reality. From massage balls to wrist trainers, he puts everything through real-world testing with zero brand partnerships or sugar-coating. Worth watching because most of us wonder if these cheap Amazon finds actually work or if we're just throwing money away.

Back Massage Ball ($20) - Looks like a golf ball, works like advertised for loosening up pre-round. Does the job but you could probably get the same result with a $2 ball. Points for golf aesthetics, minus points for price gouging. And did Matt seriously roll something across the paint of his car? Don’t want to imagine the scratches the massage ball left or the micro-dents.
Bunker Caddy Training Discs ($50 for 3) - Designed to practice bunker shots without sand by hitting behind the disc. Major flaw: 99% of golfers already hit too far behind the ball in bunkers. Most people need to learn to get closer to the ball, not further behind it. Skip this one.
ISO Putter Ball Retriever ($6) - Screws onto putter end to pick up balls without bending over. Actually works great for people with back issues. Not pretty on your putter, but functional for the price. Useful niche product.
Gecko Grip Cleaner ($15) - Smells like Windex, works like magic. Restored tackiness to slick grips instantly. Could probably DIY for cheaper, but it delivers on promises. I must also admit that I’ve neglected my grips for two seasons. A good reminder to clean your grips regularly (or at least more often than I do).
Driver Dart Bamboo Tees ($8) - Extra-long bamboo tees with cool Pac-Man teeth design. A tee is a tee, but these look sharp and didn't break. Good gift for golf trips, nothing groundbreaking but solid quality.
Guyana Wrist Trainer ($30) - The surprise winner. Keeps wrists in proper position at the top, eliminated Matt's loop issue, and produced some solid shots. For $30, it might be the best training aid bargain on Amazon.
Quick Bites for the Road
👨 I Surprised My Dad With NEW Golf Clubs | Happy Father’s Day - Sean Walsh is starting to become my favorite guy in the GoodGood crew. This video is another example. He takes his dad on a bucket list trip and gifts him brand new clubs. I hope to create as a meaningful relationship with my daughter as Sean’s dad did with him. Tear-jerking video. Damn people cutting onions everywhere.
🦞 The BEST Municipal Golf Course I’ve Played - Garrett's state-by-state muni tour hits Massachusetts, and the course he finds is absolutely ridiculous for public golf. Hard to believe you can play something this dialed without country club dues. Makes you wonder what hidden gems are lurking in your own backyard.
🐔 We Played Jason Day’s $3,000,000 Backyard Golf Course - GoodGood wraps their hot streak with a team match on Jason Day's private paradise. Features the most insane opening hole - blind shot over an actual barn. Let's just say someone left a permanent mark on that barn that Day probably won’t forget.

Quiz answer
Augusta National, due to hilly terrain and delicate grounds, stilettos are banned. Good thing I’ve learned that before making my trip once I win the ticket lottery. So let’s assume never.
Sincerely, your Magic Rabbit.
Leader through the rabbit hole. Still thinks a joke about stiff shafts is funny.
